Avoiding the Kafka Nightmare

If you’re familiar with the resounding works of Franz Kafka, you are familiar with the portrait he paints of the ‘daily grind.’ Something resembling the 1927 Fritz Lang Classic “Metropolis.” (not familiar? See clip below.)

In Kafka’s most famous work, “The Metamorphosis” our protagonist awakes to find himself having taken the form of a vermin, which he had longed to become because he so dreaded going to work in the morning.

With this in mind, I pose the question: how do we muddle through the mundane and rediscover our inspiration (if, for no other reason than to save our sanity and prevent our human forms from morphing into cockroaches)?

One of my theories is that if we make a conscious effort to enrich our lives outside of work, we’ll be more productive, well rounded and boast more personal accomplishments.

Side projects are key in helping you more accurately define your passions or explore new creative outlets. Set aside one night a week for projects or classes and you may find your worries eclipsed by some great new ideas.

This would be horrible exsistance for sure!
from Ryan Wlater's website,

Don’t Work - WIN
…the mindset change that revolutionizes life.

But then again, why are so many people satisfied with such a mundane, boring work world? Many say,"jsut don't ask me to do anything new!!"
Suppose we need some of these people in the labour force to fill these horrible positions and I wonder what people like this do when they get home???

You go Allison!
